EDR Riders
Mark DeGross
Brief Description
40 year old fast dude who has three little mouths to feed at home and who is fast enough to keep an AMA Pro License.
Accomplishments
Won the 2002 WMRRA Open Twins championship in my first year as an expert! Earned the 2003 most crashes award in WMRRA. That's debatable, but hey I had a steep learning curve! Raced in several AMA events in 2003 and 2005. Survived a violent crash in Spokane in 2005 where I broke my femur! Managed to keep it all together and start a Track Day and Performance School company by the name of 2Fast.
Goals
Have a ton of fun, as always! Win a freaking major class race! I came very close a few times in 2007, led a few races, but never won one. Cut two seconds off my lap times at PR. Get Lash to look over at me giving him the bird as were racing down the front stretch! He's so intense, he won't look over when we draft pass each other! Inspire others to take part in this great sport of racing through our performance schools and track days. Be a good example of keeping things in balance and perspective; come on guys, this is club racing! If you aren't having fun at this, re-evaluate why you're doing it!
EDR Pimpage
In 2002 and 2003 I used EDR for their Dunlop race tire service. I was new to the sport and was pretty much a nobody. In 2003 I did full seasons with WMRRA and OMRRA, plus a few AMA events. I bit off more than I could chew, was crashing alot, was popping motors left and right (EDR wasn't my engine builder that year), so I wasn't exactly someone that a vendor wanted to be associated with. Eric treated me great, with excellent service and all the fun EDR roasting that comes with it. What I remember most and impressed me, was that several times in 2003, I would be running very late, heading off to an AMA race somewhere and I'd call Eric, telling him I couldn't make it to his shop before closing and asking if I could pick up the fuel & tires behind his shop or something. Never once did he make me pick them up, but instead had me come by his house at like 1am where he could personally get them to me, give me a slap on the back and some good ole EDR words of encouragement. It wasn't about the measly $20-$50 in profit he was making on the fuel and tires, but about SERVICE! I have never forgot that and EDR's service, support and communication is second to none and still impresses me today, which is why I'm a loyal customer. Service, service, service...that's what separates EDR from the others in my opinion. Thanks EDR!
