Five Questions with EDR Girl Amanda Olson

Amanda, there’s not much information about you that is public, so enlighten us! What do you like to do in your spare time?

In general I love having fun and being spontaneous! Occasionally in my spare time I enjoy riding horses. I also love spending time with my friends, family and my high maintenance dogs that I spoil rotten! Of course since I'm not a girly girl, I love hanging out at the shop (EDR) and the track.

As a dental hygienist and a babe you must be used to people with their mouths hanging open. Any specific events that stick out?

Even though I feel my looks don't define who I am as a person, It is always fun watching guys take a second glance at me(as long as they don't drool), try their favorite pick-up lines and swear someday we will be married, even though I barely know their name. I've had many approach me asking if I'm from here or there or if I've worked in a different dental office before, only to get "no" answers. They come to realize on their own it's from the EDR calendar. It really can be kind of awkward when you are trying to be professional at work.

Even though you aren't tall you appear to photograph taller. Is your height a challenge for you in the modeling industry?

I'm sure being 5' 2'' has kept me from getting extensive modeling jobs, but then again I'm not out pounding the pavement. If I am contacted and offered a job I am excited and thrilled to do it. If not, that's fine too.

You are a EDR Performance girl. Is it gross being around all the grease and race fuel?

I grew up at P.I.R. (Portland International Raceway) with my Dad racing cars, so I actually enjoy the noises, the smells, and the excitement of it all! I would go down to the track a day early in our motorhome just to camp out and be in the action at the track, rain or shine. While having my dad try to teach me and show me everything about the cars. Like I mentioned before I am not a girly girl so hanging around the shop with all the guys, grease and bikes is a fun time for me. So when Eric (Editor: Eric Dorn, owner of EDR Performance is the lucky guy in Amanda's life) comes home smelling like race fuel and grease I actually like it, it brings back good memories! I love learning everything I can about cars and bikes! My dream vacation would be front row at the Formula One race in Monaco. Does that say anything?

This is your second year in the EDR Performance calendar. Has it changed your life much?

Being an EDR girl has not changed my life in any drastic way, but it has given me the confidence knowing I am great just the way I am. Not to mention it has been a lot of fun with exciting opportunities. I have also been able to meet a lot of great people I probably otherwise would have not met!
