I installed R1 cailpers in my gsxr1000 K5. I noticed that the pads are now bitting lower in the rotor. like 4mm less.
Do I need to use a washer to gain back those mm. since I understand that will make the caliper have more levereage then more force against the rotor.
Thanks

Barry makes spacers for that conversion. Give him a call.

yes, you need 5mm washers for them.

What year R6/R1 front calipers will fit on my '07 GSXR-750?

Dave, I used some off an 06 R6 with about a 1.25mm spacer to center the pad on the rotor. I believe you can use somewhere from 05-08 for the R6 and like 03-05 for the R1. I know they have different year ranges between the two models. Hope that helps...

+3mm you need to get them to line up.
I had them done so the part had the douels of the caliper and the fork.
best part, I had the material, so it was free.....

Interesting, the 750 fork ends must be a bit different or something. It took 1.25 +/-mm. to get the pad fairly centered on the rotor on my 750. Glad you got hooked up!
