Thursday afterwork

Lord tell me this winter is almost over. Earlier this week I saw hail, snow, rain and fog in one morning. Watching the weather, my son and I figured we better take the available week day evening ride while the sky was cooperating.

First order of business was to top off the tank. A nutritious meal with a fine view at our favorite 3rd Ave Chipotle.

Cruising the metro we were loving life as automobile-encapsulated commuters gave us the “thumbs up”. An occasional car alarm greeted us as the stock pipes rumbled that V-twin song. A beautiful evening.

Out Burnside and up Skyline -now we’re having fun. We must have seen a dozen bikes out there. Beautiful road. Tyler did great on the passenger cushion and seemed to really enjoy the lively pace.

Back in town we enjoyed our very manly lattes while the VTR ticked in the parking lot. And for a short time, a father and his teenage son talked excitedly, in mutual appreciation, about whatever came to mind. Now that’s priceless.

To one day go riding with ones kids, these are the dreams of fatherhood.

With the weather appearing to have "turned the corner", my daughter and I needed little excuse to run around the block.

Rolling easy through eastern Portland we saw people out and about. Walking dogs, jogging, playing T-ball, just soaking up the day.

Over to Trader Joe's we officially validated our excuse for riding. Then on to the nearby Starbucks to discuss the serious issues of a ten year olds day.

very nice... rode with peter once on the way to laguna, haven't ridden with him since, but it was a total blast... smiles all the way around
