Goddamn those self serving pricks on that forum drive me fxxking nuts! I posted for my BUDDY barry that i was saddened by the news of the dunlop lockout at a certain trackday and then some asshole like E-Ticket try to turn it into a me versus t bon e battle when in fact i t was NOT!
I fully understand why some businesses do what they do, its money. thats what pays the rent, the employees and allows ppl to buy barry lap dances. However im SOOO personally tired of ppl spinning crap into a battle between t bone and myself. Its old. The guys that hate him try to rile me up...the guys that hate me try to rile him up. While i think he is in the WRONG part of the business and should stick to trackdays, im more upset that i go online and DEFEND my friend and one of the BIGGEST supporters of this industries clients (EVERYONE WITH A BIKE!) and it turns into a battle..
Fucking gets old!
I just like to build bikes. I like to hang out at the shop with our racers/customers and talk bikes. I like riding bikes. PERIOD!
Anyone wanna go to D2 and calm down???????

i also find it funny that me....little old edr that doesnt mean shit according to tyson can get OVER 1,400 VIEWS in only 12 hrs in ONE post on ONE forum for supporting his friend.
If only others in life would be willing to throw themselves in the fire for their friends the world would be a better place.
Give me an honest axxhole anyday over a fake backstabber! (dont steal it, i just made that up)

Eric, I think you know me enough already in my short time of being the self proclamed #1 "loiterer" at your shop to understand that what I am saying is sincere. Please read on...
I have been your customer for some time (only a few years now actually) and have always been treated well no matter how much or how little Ive done in the way of business with you. I never get the "perpetual salesman" crap from you or any of your awesome emloyees. I have a great deal of respect for what you have acomplished with your company and consider you a straight shootin person in the industry. I also enjoy being able to hang out and participate in your "shop life" on a personal level as well. That said,,,While it is fun (in a train wreck kinda way) to read/watch these things go down online it is also painful at times to know how much negative energy is spent on such trivial things when it seems that everyday we are reminded of how short and fragile life is.
I appreciate the effort you made to "inform" people about the tire situation. If only it could have been left at that. You say you have gator skin Eric, but at times seem as though you have none. Im not sure why though, considering you have a succesful business, a great set of employees/friends, etc.... maybe that is why you feel the need to constantly defend your position? To protect the things you value most? Im guessing that could explain it for the most part.
Now, a little advice from your Italian-American #1 loiterer/customer/friend:
Everyone that knows you, calls you a bud or whatever, understands your passion for the things you believe in. You do not have to constantly battle to show any of us that is the case. Step back when you start gettin all "20,000RPM" on your keyboard and look at what you have and where life is taking you... enjoy that for all its worth. I say this because I tend to be alot like you when it comes to my friends/family and dont fuck around when it comes to protecting them or their interests,,, that and we both would probably have more hair if we just chilled out a little more often!
Just repeat after me,,, "tutto a posto". The best thing I learned from my Neopolitan friend Giovanni in Italy about 5 years ago... "tutto a posto". I believe you picked something similar up from the locals on your last surfing trip.
So, when the shit seems like it just leveled the fan say to yourself:
"What did that wise Italian-American guy CoachVino once say?,,, Tutto a posto,,, or what did those crazy bud smokin locals once say?,,,
Spero che ci vediamo sabato! (hope to see ya saturday!)
Ciao Eric,
Kevin -CoachVino-

thanks kevin. i know. im sure my LONG term "loiterer's" dpw and beer gut are tired of saying same. DPW has had to (poor him) "see this" since i started my own shop in 99' (back then it was the TLR forum!) but its hard when your so passionate about what you do.
i do this cause i LOVE bikes. I moved into a MUCH larger shop, MUCH more $$ shop, added more stuff, put in plasmas, hired the BEST in the biz for one reason. I want portland(and NW) guys/gals to have the best/coolest/neatest shop around. If i wanted to make money i'd have listened to dpw more and stayed small. i used to have 2003-2006 a ton of toys/cars/bikes/jetskis. I honestly made good money back then...but never made me as happy as when we have a very busy saturday at the coolest shop in portland (or NW for that matter) best times are hanging out on the loading dock right smack in center of it all and having a cigar with my friends ben, gary, jay, gwynne, poo and (chris v once its warm enough).
Thanks man. and its Pura Vida in Costa Rica...my buddy dan (whose bike you bought!) is takin me and our buddy peso back in feb....thank GOD!

In all honesty .ws is all about ego's. it has nothing to do with bikes, performance, racing, shops, etc. Almost every thread sooner or later becomes an ego infested bashing shit box. I may not be a racer, and have only known Eric since 98, but I can definitely say you do not need to prove yourself on that forum. In my opinion it only plays into their hands. They can't compete in the real world so they have to try and "win" on the internet.

My thoughts exactly. I've never registered at .ws, mainly because I have nothing to add there. I do like to browse through the thread once in awhile (Every month or so), but other then that, I hardly go there to read much.
Eric, don't let it get to you. It is the internet! Everyones bigger, sexier, and meaner on the internet. The moment you call them out though, they will all of a sudden come down with "Pico Testicilus" Syndrome.
And as far as you liking to bs... I can attest to that... It's usually not a problem getting you to talk, it's getting you to shut up that is the problem! :D :D :D :D

Eric,
I respect you Eric for your love of bikes and life and I believe you have built a great business. I really respect the way you stand up for your friends because this is what life is all about the relationships we develope along the way.
Barry is another guy who is straight up and who I also support and his love of bikes and his passion is amazing and I feel for his youg business. I believe after all is said and done the relationships we build doing the things we love are far more valuable than any dollar we can make.
Business is a dicotomy at best. We chase the dollar so we can do the things we love and in our industry we get to combine a little of both. The friendships are priceless and many bad decisions are made along the way as well as many good ones however it is the journey that matters.

Learning experience... no matter the content, previous context taints the contents of the message.
There will always be haters...just means you are high enough up that you are seen as the target. No need to recognize the legitimacy of anything else.

Eric,
I have known you since 2000. Things that I have seen go on at your shop, the Johnny Dugan, Matt Zurbuchen era.. the venture with Tyson your move to "the city" etc.. I have seen your many faces of frustration and while we dont hang out on weekends and Im not one of the guys pouring money into your shop you have always been good to me and I appreciate that. You are drug through the mud quite a bit, but cmon you have to expect that. You have achieved what many other people envy. You are your own boss, you are really good at what you do, people like and trust you, you get pissed because you care, your business is a success and for all of this you should be proud.
Keep doing what you do and if others try to emulate that, consider it a compliment.
Good job E.

Care to attempt to moderate all of that crap? Hats off to the mods that are there. I wouldn't do it. Eric does get kicked quite a bit, but sometimes someone ribs him a bit and he comes out with both barrels blazing. I don't blame him, he's very proud of his accomplishments and should be. Please don't attack the mods, it's more the fault of certain members of that site. Should I put on flame retardant clothing?

Guys, i invited the mods from there on here for a reason..they are cool guys! they too are just as tired of the bullshit. like he said, i ask for it at times.
speed, was there a last post that pushed it to the edge? just curious.
It was just where the thread was going, it needed to go away.
Drama still going on behind the scenes though.

I never even saw it. The mods did what they thought was best. I'll back them 100%. Thanks for the kind words. You just give a shit. Is that a bad thing?
I'm still waiting for and EDR/FL!

Both. Sorry, it was supposed to say "an EDR/FL". My left hand isn't working well (in a cast), and my typically crappy typing is worse. I want an EDR location in FL!

good god! If i won the lottery i would do this....
EDR Portland (USA HQ's.run by Poo...haha)
EDR North (run by barry wressell) -Renton/Seattle
EDR No-Cal- Sac
EDR So-Cal (run by R191 steve) -Van Nuys area LA
EDR Texas- Austin
EDR NY-NY area
EDR South- Florida
Yeah...that should keep me busy. Hoenstly it would be easy...just like cycle gear BUT more a service oriented business. TOO many retail/online type shops...we (USA) need more SERVICE oriented shops, shops with 1,000 sqft retail/parts, and 3-5000sq ft service areas. Train the tech how to interact with customers, (not online mind you) and dyno tuning, etc.
Then i'd be at the EDR Performance World Headquarters in Tamarindo, Costa Rica!
