We just got xxxx's 08 R6 up on the dyno and all i can say is FUCK ME this system is amazing! If you dont have one this season and are on high hp or wet track...kiss your ass goodbye!

When we first go to "roll" the bike (spin the drum) and the tire is cold is spins like MAD...then once its warmed up and your in say 4th or 5th gear...its fine..but with the BPD...i turned the TC off...put in 2nd gear at 5k and WFO..the tire spun like MAD...just lite it up like a top fuel burn out....THEN i turned the TC on and same thing...WOW! Just slight pop noise (VERY faint) and the tire you could feel just accelerated....VERY little spinning (i can adjust this for overall AND IN EACH GEAR!!!)

The mapping system is great and very straight forward..the Quickshifter is the BEST one i have ever used with their pre determined and installed settings...its just lightning fast and smooth!!

Im happier than if my hair had regrown!!!!!!

EDR + BPD = GIT FUCKING SUM IN 2008!!!

Gawd damn you Eric!!!

Quit finding ways to spend more of my money!!! :(

Actually, good job. I didn't want Justin to be an "early adopter" just in case there are still a few "bugs" to iron out. May have to reconsider after you've done a couple more. Got any little gixxers in line yet? :)

I should be getting my 750 in there soon too! Probably wait till Eric has had a chance to get caught up on the race bikes before I bother him with my street bike powered by: BBBBBBB PPPPPPPP DDDDDDDDD!!!!

Having installed the first one myself (even before Big E) cuz I couldnt wait, I have to say the hardware is very well made and from the sounds of it, the dyno software is excellent as well!

How much is that sistem?
do they selll a traction control only, since I have the fuel mapping a AFR selftune data log unit.?

mpp....no, sorry only a complete unit. it is $999. but im tellin ya its GONNA GO UP! That is so far under priced for all that it does and the QUALITY of the stuff...

C-el...what testing? the stuff is PROVEN! PERIOD! The Fueling is done just like DJ....its 100% proven..the quick shifter again is like the DJ one, BUT it allows you to adjust EACH GEAR SHIFT KILL which REALLY helps alot!...100% proven. The TC system is VERY basic if you want (sure i can adjust amount for all rpm range and all throttle position ranges AND each gear....but most WONT! Ammar "Eric, honestly even the top teams dont fuck with the TC settings in the software..only the on fly switch to suit them/conditions"

HONESTLY FOLKS THE ONLY THING THAT IS/WAS NOT KNOWN WAS HOW EASY IS IT TO USE..by tuner (EDR) or rider..AND ONLY AFTER 1 BIKE IM LIKE WOW....ITS SIMPLE, EASY TO USE, COMMUNICATES DIRECTLY WITH ECU (DJ you must have bike running!! BPD YOU DO NOT!) AND LIKE I SAID, ONLY VARIABLE WILL BE HOW MUCH OR HOW LITTLE THE RIDER WANTS THE TC TO DO.

im just pissed i cant get this for my MV Agusta street bike!!!

btw: i MAKE MORE MONEY ON THE DJ STUFF...so im not sales pushing it...hell i dont care so long as my riders are happy and go fast!!

E. In the future please have my bikes washed before pickup. Thanks.

Real questions:

Is min RPM for Elec Shift adjustable or if predetermined what is it?

Second question where is the throttle position % sampled? I presume it's an electronic sample since some have short turn throttles (spec cam inserts). Reason I ask is because (I know there is a selector switch) Bazzaz site says, "Traction control is easily adjusted by Throttle Position, RPM, and Gear to suit any track or riding condition."

The TC system is VERY basic if you want (sure i can adjust amount for all rpm range and all throttle position ranges AND each gear....but most WONT! Amaar "Eric, honestly even the top ama teams dont fuck with the TC settings in the software..only the on fly switch to suit them/conditions"Eric my trepidation, while maybe misguided, was due to 2 different things...

First off, we were around for some of Amaar's prototype testing last season (he and Joel were in our garage at Fontana last year working with our pit-mate's ZX-6) so we saw first hand some of the difficulties that they were having. I wanted to make sure that they hadn't maybe rushed things into production while not having worked out all of the "bugs". I did feel, however, that the Suzuki kits had the best chance of being right straight out of the box just based on Amaar's experience with them.

Secondly, I wasn't sure how steep the learning curve was going to be for any tuner to figure out (speaking in general terms here and not pointing a finger at you) . It seems that there is so much adjustment available that one could easily get themselves completely upside-down and not know which way to turn. It is good to hear that you didn't have to stray far from the baseline settings to see good results.

We already knew how much better the BPD QS was over the DJ so that was never a concern. The TC is going to be new to everyone and maybe less critical on a 600 than a liter bike but a useful tool nonetheless (especially if one finds themself in a rain race).

I can say right here and now that we will be finding a way to get one of those systems on Justin's bike sometime soon (hopefully before the race season really gets started). I've already pulled up the couch cushions looking for loose change (the T-hill trackday weekend really put a big dent in our budget as I easily spent more than twice as much as I had planned for :().

Oh yeah, I also have to make sure that it's okay with Lil' Matty. :D

WASH? NO way...that stuffs better than Stomp grip on the tank! :puke (bad visual huh?)

Quick shifter honestly, not sure what is preset...ill check into it. Im here all day today (got 8 bikes to map/dyno/tune..longggg day) and ill see. It is not as far as i know adjustable for what rpm threshold you want to start it at if i remember, but honestly the 08 R6 we were working on last night was one of the BEST shift (kill) setups i have shifted! The std DJ setting on a 06-08 R6 is usually 55-65ms. The BPD base settings (which i found so far are spot on) are as long as 90ms for 1-2 gear and as short as 30ms for 5-6!

Throttle position is read directly from the OEM throttle position switch. The throttle you have will make 0 impact. the TC is like i said, either VERY easy, or VERY complex if YOU WANT it too be! YES you can adjust the TC in

1. Overall TC map
2. The TC is adjustable via the 2 way bar switch OR in the software and you can "adjust/move" TC up or down +5/-5 or totally off
3. You can FURTHER adjust TC by EACH GEAR! Turn it off for 1st gear (starts), then use "0" in the 2-5 gear sections (which will default to your standard setting) and then say -3 in 6th gear (which will make is -3 the standard map in 6th gear only!) So if you have a corner that you WANT more wheel spin in..lets say 2nd gear..you can pull the TC out of 2nd gear by a little or all together!
4. You can even FURTHER dial in the TC by adjusting the base map by RPM AND THROTTLE POSITIONS! So you can have an aggressive TC map for lower rpm's (typically highside like 6-10k) and then have none or little at very high rpm (say 13-16k).

The beauty is this thing is as SIMPLE as you want or allows you to really play with and adjust to YOUR bike, YOUR riding style, YOUR track!

C-eL...its good...i like the questions and such. few things

1. what were the issues you saw? Only thing i know/can think of is Ammar was trying NEW things that were not yet (still not) available like "Anti Wheelie" system addition!

2. NO! There ARE a bunch of stuff to play with if you WANT...honestly C-eL the Fuel mapping part is easier than DJ because it is 100% the same format BUT its only every 500 rpm not 250 rpm (which i thought was not needed by DJ..the KIT ecu's only do every 1000rpm) The Quick shifter is SUPER easy..MUCH easier than DJ because there is NO additional ignition module needed, NO updating PC, downloading additional software, etc. Plus you can adjust the kill for each gear..its simple..use the std settings..if you find its too fast or too slow in one certain gear change....adjust it...2 sec job. The TC set up is simple as well. Use the STD settting...then (imo you should have the TC switch) adjust the overall TC set up to the RIDERS choice..let him adjust on the fly. might take 1 day of practice/trackday to get his setting. IF you want more/play with it you can....but most will not honestly. And if you do, its about as basic as my hair falling out...honestly

3. TC LESS important on a 600? ONLY if the rider is slow! Watch Wold Supersport some time...those guys high side more than any others! WHY? They HAVE to have the exit corner speed...the 600 class is ALL ABOUT who can carry more speed thru the corner AND get on the gas FIRST/HARDEST! PERIOD!

4. dont mention lil matty on here...you too will be banned :jk

Only thing i know/can think of is Ammar was trying NEW things that were not yet (still not) available like "Anti Wheelie" system addition!I'm not sure what they were working on that weekend (almost a year ago now). It was truly a prototype as it was a simple plastic "black box" with a circuit board inside. All that I know is they played around with it all day Saturday (trackday) and Sunday morning (practice) but pulled it all off of Josh's bike for the races that afternoon.

2. Again, it was just a concern of mine. :)

They HAVE to have the exit corner speed...the 600 class is ALL ABOUT who can carry more speed thru the corner AND get on the gas FIRST/HARDEST! PERIOD!Re-read what I said. "Maybe less critical" means because of the power difference a big bike will benefit the most from TC. I'm really "on the fence" anyway about how electronics is taking over from rider talent but that is a discussion for another thread. Oh, and last I checked no one from World Supersport is planning on gridding up at PIR or PR anytime soon. ;)
4. dont mention lil matty on here...you too will be banned :jk:D

I love how we have a track record that is BARELY matched by any other shop in the country save for a handful...been doing this over 15 years, are one of only a FEW in the ENTIRE COUNTRY that are certified tuning centers for such things as DJ, BPD, Nemesis, Rapid Bike, YEC, HRC, etc, etc...yet still not enough for folks to believe our findings.

SOmetimes i hate the internet. There has been a ton of talk on that forum about the BPD and "DOES IT EXIST OR WORK" and we wanted to show it in fact DOES!

We were SIMPLY TRYING TO OFFER UP SOME INFO, REAL WORLD INSTAL, AND REAL WORLD FEEDBACK! NO wonder NO SHOPS post on there anymore...agggggggggggggggg

I have to agree with you the WERA board if full of Mongo followers who are just clueless and are long time members who have no technical info or value to add to discussions about new technology. I had a long thread in which i was trying to explain the 3 way map switch on the 07 gsxr is not traction control and just gave up after i saw the number of idiotic responses from people who have no clue what so ever. Hi Pat,

The Z-Fi/TC will not be affected in any way by the 1/4 turn throttle.

The quick shifter will not allow you to shift below 3,000 rpm's.

The best way to begin using the TC is by setting it at full on TC and
backing it off using the TC switch.

Best regards,

components.: Z-Fi questions

'06 & 07 GSXR 750 I have quick (1/4) turn throttle, will this affect the
throttle position input to the TC or is the input taken in a non
mechanical way?

Also, is the software able to set the low threshold RPM setting for the
Quick Shift to function? Previous system I set 3500 RPM.

Finally, any informational source for how to best ride with TC active if
never used it before (on track racing)?

Thank you in advance for answers,

A little more info from Chip@KWS regarding the Closed Loop system:2.) Self Mapping or “Closed Loop” –

The close loop function works very well, but it is not the be all – end all like a more advanced system. The system works very well, but does require a fair bit of knowledge of how to build a map and a dyno or race track to build a complete map. The system does not run all the time and does not work in real time. You have to turn the system on and then run the bike on a dyno or race track at all the various throttle positions and rpm ranges. Once you have hit all your points, you have to hook the bike back up to a lap top, save the data, and then apply the map. You will need to check the map for outliers before you apply it. We have seen cells that contain fairly random readings like + or – 50 (max value) that need to be corrected manually before being applied or the bike will not run correctly. It would be very difficult and or illegal to try to build a complete map on the street and if you do not map for 100% throttle at 13,000 rpm then it is not mapped. When or if you do get 100% throttle at 13K then the bike will not run correctly.Makes it seem kinda pointless for most if you have a good tuner (Eric ;)) to map the standard system on a dyno. It certainly does not make the Z-Fi a "Plug & Play" system for the layman.
