Yeah I know everyone has their own theory on which way is best but I wanna hear it straight from the horse's mouth! (not calling Eric a jackass, just saying I want his opinion) lol!
I dont have the money for Eric's Dyno Breakin so Im doing it all on the street.
Varying RPM How high should I go?
shifting through all the gears how often?
How many miles do I really need to take it easy? and when can or should I ride it like I stole it?
Change oil when?
Any other important break in precedures I should pay attention to?

I broke an '06 750 in exactly according to the book and had E. break in my '07. Guess which one made more HP initially. After some aggressive riding on the '06 (track day style) it eventually came up to and matched the '07 when charted on E.'s dyno. If I had it to do over with a new 750 and didn't want to use the dyno for break in I'd run 2 tanks of gas at various RPMs and not do drag race starts but rather slow builds to mid-range with occasional drifts up to the the upper RPM range. Change the oil and figure from that point my bike is broken in. Like they say, just my 2 cents.

If you don't use a dyno, they tell you how to break-in your engine on the street. Scroll down and it's under break-in secrets, has alot of other cool info too.

Pat said it best. The Dyno is not the do all say all...it does it CORRECTLY AND more importantly, without fear of crashing or tickets. NIce guy, run it in like you want, then come see me and we'll do some good final break in on it and pulls on the dyno and ill do for you for only $75 not the $150.
Congrats on the new ride!

Thanks Eric!
Think Ill put 250 easy miles of rolling on the throttle, change the oil and bring it to you.

Congrats Dave!! You are gonna LOVE that bike. Did Brett hook you up?

I went to see Brett first, but he wasnt in and Action did not have any '07 GSXR'S in stock. So Darin at Action sent me down to Portland Motorcycle who had ONE dark blue 750 left. Kiwi at Portland hooked me up and threw in the solo rear seat cowl. (comes with the bike but a lot of dealerships charge extra for it)
I found out after I bought this one that the shop down in Oregon City (used to be action motorsports but something defferent now) had a better deal on them, but it was too late. Oh well, I am stoked to have this one and looking forward to an exciting year!

READ mototune site, the shit works! Eric will agree.

just read mototune. sounds like good stuff. ive got 50 miles on the odo now, but 90% of that has been rolling on and off the throttle, just not full throttle like the article said. Think Ill change the oil and ride it hard now.

Choice #1 - EDR Dyno
Choice #2 - Mototune
I've done both but prefer #1. :)

Holy Shit that TRE made a big difference!!! Going from an underpowered 600 to this makes the 750 seem scary fast! and I never even got into the real powerband!

Awesome man! I picked up an 06 750 from Eric's buddy Dan at the end of summer after I totalled my 01 750. Finally rode it to work the other day for the first time and although my 01 was no slouch, these new 750's rev like crazy! Plus its sooooo light and flickable compared to my old bike. Im sure youre stoked on your upgrade just like me, congrats again!
PS what TRE did you get? GIpro or something?

They had one for $40 but I was told it would make the gear indicator stop working. They also had the GI pro for almost $200 which had its own gear indicator.
The TRE "smart" was $60 and I was told it was new to the shop and it was supposed to fix the gear indicator. Bought that, put it in and it shows 5th gear all the time.
Oh well, 6-8 HP for $60 isnt bad at all so Im not complaining. But I am curious what the difference is between the $40 and the $60 TRE's

basically it keeps the OEM timing for neutral/idle so it much smoother...here is off line info
********************************
Suzuki Smart Timing Retard Eliminator (STRE)
Many of Suzuki's late model sport bikes have electronic circuitry which retards the ignition timing in the first four gears, which also reduces the horsepower. Simply plugging our Suzuki Smart TRE unit in will increase power in the lower gears and will eliminate the hesitation / stumble, when you get off then back on the throttle. The Smart TRE has a mini-micro chip which switches the TRE off when the bike is shifted into neutral. The reason the Smart TRE was designed is so that when the bike is in neutral it will not effect the idle quality which the standard TRE does cause the idle to be slightly rough. This Smart TRE unit will work great together with a Dynojet Power Commander since the TRE unit addresses the ignition curve and the Power Commander addresses the fuel curve. For this reason this is a must have performance upgrade

Thanks Eric! Had I been told that I still would have bought it so no complaints here!

I have broken in several cars and bikes.
Pat Mc Giverns way, change the oil often during the first 1000 miles. Acording to him the bike gets broken in in the first 200miles.

changed the oil at about 200 miles and then took it to the track today for 6 decent laps. Im still afraid to get it up above 8500 RPM lol!!!
