Removing plunger on brake master cylinder

How do you remove the plunger on the brake master cylinder. I am concerned if I just pull I'm going to break something, which is typical when I work on my bike... LOL

You pull off the plunger and below that is a snap ring that you'll need a pair of snap ring pliers for.
