sponsorship sucks

man...i have for years given racers a hard time about getting sponsors, but man i know why now..it sucks! its so time consuming. We are trying to get help this season to once again put on another KILLER race bike and are this year actively going after support and sponsors. So far i have over 20 letters done and about 10 more to go....not only am i a 'racer' (ok, im not, bike is) but we are a shop that supports their products and help sell their products..i really hope it works..

time will tell.

Now you can see how much work it is to do it all. People don't realize how much effort it is and BTW, most places if you didn't get them a resume etc back in Oct-Nov are no longer taking resumes. Fortunately, you have relationships with many already but still, once their budge it used up, its gone.

I just submitted my resume to the Deja Vu up here and they said that they had plenty of "openings" available for sponsorship opportunities. The guy on the phone said something about a couch?

true, but yeah i got pretty good pull and rep among them...plus sending them a calendar WITH their products showing doesnt hurt...

Yup, I usually have resumes going out the weekend following the last race weekend (beg of Oct) for the same reasons Justin mentioned.
