Since I've been out of the loop for a while, I'll ask a dumb question. What version of U4 are most people running. Is the old version even available? I heard long time ago that the new version had some problems, are those worked out?

U4.2 is the current stuff. The only problem is it doesn't smell nearly as good as U4 used to.
You need to talk to Eric though, he said he has something special in the works for next year.

Dan, the U4.2 is the newest stuff. However i have not been "overly" impressed with it. It works good, clean, consistant, etc...but not best hp. Also, VP raised our dealer order min to 450gals to get fuel (if you figure our avg price per gal is $18/gal with U4.2 being $12 and MR11 being $25) thats about $8,000 in fuel PER ORDER!! I just dont have DPW cash flow...
That being said, we DO have some new fuel to test this week. It is from one of the largest manf of fuel and its is VERY promising from what i have heard from other shops/teams that have used. The "specs" on the fuel look great so now i just need to test it. Reliability and consistancy are proven, as is hp but i like to see the hp myself first hand.
If it works out, we look to sell it for as little as $8/gal!!! It will not be MR11 power but close and 1/3 the cost....stay tuned!!!

U4 was suspected to cause a gummy build-up on intake valves. I use U4 with no problems. U4.2 was originally designed to replace U4 but demand remained for U4 (apparently more so in southern regions due to climate). It was not supposed to have this build up concern as with U4. It does have much higher octane (108?). I spoke with the local VP rep and she suggested the build up was due to mixing with pump gas (left in the tank after practicing with pump fuel, then adding U4 to race on). I only ran U4 in my bikes. It's painfully expensive ($16 per gallon). If you (Eric) have a better solution, I'm all ears! [clicks subscribe to thread feature...]

i never once had any issues with U4. We used it a ton and we do about 40+ race motors a year. Honestly, VERY clean fuel. Issue was the additive was not allowed in california for one at all (even for race use) and two the cost was climbing due to the formula. As for price...dayum $16/gal? shit most i ever sold it for was in the 5gal pails for @$12/gal you were paying way too much!
Ill have Poo pick it up friday and we'll get to the testing :D

We will post dyno's up this week. I did two test.
STOCK CBR600RR.. made 2.8more hp than pump and U4.2 made 3.0more hp than pump
Built (high compression, ss legal motor) GSXR750 made 4 more hp than pump, and U4.2 made 4.1more hp!
Both bike ran BACK TO BACK fuels within 30 mins TOTAL time. Both bikes i got map for WFO throttle base mapped.
Im pretty happy with results. I got a few little things to check on, but looks awesome so far! They have a "better" fuel that should make a bit more hp even still.
It looks to be $50/5gal pail and if you buy at our shop, we will have a fresh 55drum every month and we can pump it to your can for $8.99/gal!
Ill try to post up dyno charts..i apologize i forget when im at the shop to post up. Just got home and after 11 hrs in engine room, im beat...bedtime.

i just want to be 100% behind this stuff before i promote/sell it. I dont like selling shit just because i make a buck, or it cheap, etc..i want to be sure its what our customers/racers want and what me(builder) needs.
Stay tuned...

I am pretty sure eric is talking about Sunoco fuel. Not sure why the name is such a secret. I could be wrong, but its the only fuel I know that is pretty good and much cheaper than VP or R-Tech.

Justin, no secret..just why promote something that MAY not work, MAY have issues, or MAY have delivery issues? Honestly Sunoco is the brand, but its a fuel not talked about on the forums...most are talking about the Sunoco GT260 or such..which this is not. I just like to make sure everything is safe, available and performs BEFORE i sell to our customers.
