Excellent read. I think his points about whoever becomes the promoter, having either control or influence over the rules and technical regulations is well stated.

The AMA point system, like Noyes points out, is far too rewarding to finishers rather than winners. Maybe that'll get changed too with the company who wins the bidding war for the promotion of the series.
