I've never used an on-bike lap timer before, but wanna give it a shot this year. What brand should I get?

I have the XT and like it. They can be had for about $165 I think. They make a new mini version now that doesn't have all the trick features and simply does time if you want.

beer gut....check this out...we have them in stock!

http://www.starlane.com/en_Athon_GPS_multifunctional_chrono.htm

We got hooked up one for EDR to use. We are gonna use it for all our team riders to compare info. I can velco on your tanks (or your chest in your case) and you go out...then once you come in, i download via bluetooth and we (EDR) can compare riders laps, top speeds, corner speeds, WHEN and WHERE they brake (lets see how is king into T1 for REAL!) Since its GPS based, its unbelieveable what you can do... i cant wait!!!

boring.....lap times only? GAY!!!!!

Its all about the GPS nowadays baby! PLUS did you read the site sam? NO WIRES! Only 1 wire if you want to have a shift light/rpm.... ONE WIRE. But if you dont, just borrow beer guts chest hair...glue to your tank and then stick the GPS timer on it and LEARN why your slow!!

Hoenstly lap times dont mean shit! I'll take SPLIT times over overall lap times anyday!

NO! but ill be using in on various riders thru out the year. Sam, they are $5-700 depending on the model. But again, NO transponder box needed/easy to forget on the wall! Plus GPS accuracy PLUS track mapping (on the R version), etc, etc.... what a tool for a racer IMO honestly!! you can SEE where your slow...compared to others...

i race or try to race against peter. he's super fast and the last time we rode together in a race he slowed down to get me going faster and that lasted about a turn and a half and then he stuffed me on the inside to show me how much faster i could go there. just have to gice mike a hard time that's all.
