New to the official process of changing rules as this is only my second year in OMRRA...

Since there wasn't a measure to vote on, does that mean that '08 will have the same schedule, with qualies and mains on the same day, or is there another process that has yet to play out (a vote at the next meeting, vote by the board, etc)?

Would love to see a more relaxed schedule rather than the crazy, hectic, hair on fire schedule we run right now. Less time to watch some of the other races except for at start/finish, and not much goes on on Saturday....

Is there still a chance to get the schedule change to take effect in '08? If so, what is the process?

Rulebook changes need to be voted on by membership. Appendix items are board decisions... hence why the 85 displacement class change was a board call while windscreens are membership driven. lol

Tom, they need to be brought up in sept time..then go to rules meetings, then goes to members to vote on. Personally i HATE we vote on rules only weeks before we start racing! i have several things i want to do for 2008, but some are dependent upon the rules outcome..even simple things like paint schemes (#plate ballot measure)

Dorn, the # plate thing will pass, it was only the Corner works and some on board bitching about it, racers loved it. The precedence is already set, the board already approved it last year after I talked to them for ever about it. The only stipulation is you had to run a 2-3 inch # on the helmet as well that was clearly visible. So..... voting is just a formality to put it in the rulebook, the # on the helmet is a good idea regardless. The outcome just allows you to not have to run the # on the helmet.

I would be shocked it if fails.
