How is everyone voting on # 28-30?
I'm a little confused on #28...does it mean number of starters is based on the main event only?
I think #30 should include the superbike classes.

What if you race both 750 and 1000 classes (supersport and superbike), but at the end of the year, your two best classes (most points) are the superbike classes? Then you're screwed with this new rule. Most folks who race the 600-1000 supersport classes, also race the superbike classes. Attrition takes it's toll and you never know what you're two best classes will be at the end of the year. I don't like this new rule. Am I misunderstanding it?

The way it is set up now is if you do the qualifier they automatically count you as a starter for the main even if you don't turn a wheel. So if I crash on lap 3 of the qualifier and I am out for the day they will still count me as a starter for the main even though I didn't grid.
IMHO I think you should get points based on how many people actually gridded up for the main.

Danny,
Yes, results would be on the # of racers that actually gridded up and raced in the 10 lap race. Currently the results sent to manufactures are not the actual 10 lap race results which is WRONG!!!!
Even if your best classes are superbike, they are counted. Its a little confusing though. The rule intention is to only allow overall points to riders racing in the mainstream classes and not vintage. IF you want a shot at the title, you have to also ride and SV, 600, 750 or 1000 in supersport as one class. But if your 2 best classes are superbike at year end, then those are the two that are counted, you just need to be running at least one supersport class all season, even if you sucked in it.
I am torn on the points, but seeing as I am in the 5-15 range, doesn't really affect me much.
I voted yes for all three as I don't think vintage and 160 guys are deserving of top honors unless they also ride a modern class.

+1 This is basically to keep ppl from getting big points cause 20 ppl"entered" the class...thats bullshit! should be off how many took the START of the main!
As for #30, Beer gut, that was mine. i see your point. my only thing was to try and get the "premiere" classes more overall points. My original idea was that your overall points are off of 1 class (your choice) and the 2nd was off the top 5 biggest grids (so it could be 600ss or it could be 750sb) but it was too complex, so i just said "lets pick 5 top classes"
IMO we should do overall this way
1. Class 1 your choice
2. Class 2 MUST BE from Formula Pacific (or whatever name)

What if for some reason you run a "premier" supersport class half of the year and run superbike all year? e.g. build a superbike mid-season and quit racing supersport (unlikely, but possible). Seems a little ambiguous to me.
Also, the wording in the ballot says "points will be awarded on the basis of not more than any two classes a rider chooses to enter, at least one of which must be MW, 600, 750 or Open Supersport..If more than two classes are entered, the two with the highest total points within these parameters wil be used to calculate overall season points"
I would read the words "within these parameters" to mean one class that you use for overall points HAS to be a Supersport class.
What am I missing here?

So basically if you are dominating superbike classes and win them all and get #1 in both classes but you end up 8th overall in your SS class, you wouldnt be #1 becouse your best two classes were 1st and 8th instead of 1st and 1st?

Basically you have to run SS and SB to go for the #1 plate?

not sure on wording but here is what i meant for rule
Overall championships and points are awarded based on finishes in TWO classes.
1. Of those classes MUST BE 600ss, 750ss, Open SS, MW ss, ie.
2. The other class is your choice
SO if you do good in 750ss and say 600ss then you get both those classes towards a overall championship
If you do well in 750ss and 750sb...again, those two classes
If however, your two best are 750sb and open sb then your chances of overall championships are not good, since 1 of the two classes MUST BE from 600ss, 750ss, Open ss, mw ss. So technically you only get 1 class that counts towards overall because the 2nd one is not one of the premiere classes. Sounds more confusing than it is imo

NO! You could run only SS and win it! TAKE TWO BEST CLASSES to get overall points. ONE MUST BE SS!
SO if you run 600ss and 750ss. you have two clases towards #1 plate
If you run 1 ss class and at least 1 whatever else class (can be vintage even) you count BOTH classes towards #1 plate
If you run ONLY sb like 600sb and 750sb then you will only get ONE class counting towards #1 plate.
ONLY guys this hurts is someone with a PURE superbike..and who outside of EDR last year did that? Closest was DPW with his GSXR1000 sb BUT he also ran in 750ss, and Open SS. Now, this year he is running 750ss, 750sb, and Open SB. SOOO....his two classes that would go towards a #1 plate would be 750ss and either one of the two SB classes depending on which one helped him more...
The other 95% of the top 10 or even 20 riders will be running at least ONE of the 600ss, 750ss or Open ss. Like i said, i dont know ANYONE that runs pure superbike classes only...name someone please if i am missing someone...

From the wording, I had the same interpretation as you. I think it's worded well for your intent. I'm still undecided, I'll have to sleep on it. I think the 600, 750 and Open Superbike classes are the same category as Supersport with respect to money spent, race effort and "prestige", therefore should be included.

Its a cool rule, just going to suck if your two best classes were in superbike and you dont get the #1 plate......not that it affects me. So lets say Lippis wins outright two superbike classes and and the next highest points leader is DPW with #1 in one supersport class and #3 in another class....he would win the #1 with less points in the premier classes over Lippis. Im not seeing the point of putting SS over SB?

Yeah, I misread it and if we all can't figure it out, the chances of it passing are not good. If it fails then next year have it give it another try and try to clear up the wording. Good intent, I hope it passes.
