I was pondering "who has the best tires and why" and believe Dunlop to be the best tires on the market. Raced them for 10 years and never once wrecked on em,they have a predictable slide and wiggly feeling to them and they seem to last 4ever! Price is getting a little high but still worth it to me. Although I am going through the new NT tires a little quicker than the old style Dunlops. All in all I love the Dunlops and believe them to be the best. What do you think? Sam Verderico #455

Dunlops for me personally on my bikes cause honestly i think they give the rider the BEST feedback and imo feedback is most critical part for a tire to a rider. Also, i love feeding the Jelly Belly Dunlop guy!

At my level, it doesn't matter. All of the DOT race ires out there are better than me. I use Michelin, because in my head, they won't let me down. That's really all that matters. Whatever makes you confident. One day I'll get good enough to push on other brands and really answer that question.

I'll be honest, I've never tried any other brand but Dunlop, so my opinion is limited at best. But I do love me some Dunlop! The front tire is so phenomenal trailing HARRRRRRRD into a corner! So predictable and great feedback when your bike is setup properly (by KFG!!!). So much fun. The rear is incredible also. I love the "planted" feel Dunlops have, I don't like the squirmy feel. I guess the N-techs are this way? I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it'll be a transition. As long as the front is still "firm" feeling, I won't mind.

I'm so freakin domesticated right now! I've made several trips to Home Depot, I'm spackling, texturing, painting, tearing off wall-paper. WTF!!! I need to ride...NOW!!!!!!!!

58 days brother and we are back on the track, and the NTs in my opinion are even grippier and feel way more planted than the old ones by far.

Dan, you'll love the NT..it is different (maybe DPW can jump in) but it works good and the front is the same level of feedback and love.

I liked the NT's, but they were a very different feel. Keep in mind you're only running 22-24 psi HOT so they're definitely going to be different. To me they moved around a little more. Going into the corner the rear tended to wag side to side a little more than the old tires, and on the exit they would spin but wouldn't step out. So if you know how to control the slide you can really get a lot out of them.

Control the slide? Well there goes my chances! Not all of us can ride like DPW!!!

Should be interesting riding a tire with such a low hot pressure compared to the old style I'm used to.

Are you gonna come down to Thunderhill Feb 24 with us? I'm bringing my 750, so don't cheat by bringing your 1000...I want a fair shot!!!

Yeah right, you slide it more in T6 than anybody! Scares the crap out of me!

I hadn't thought about T-Hill, but it could be a possibility. I'll have to look into it and my work schedule. Is there a practice or trackday before it? I've never been to T-Hill...

I've never been either Danny Boy! We're driving down on Saturday and riding Sunday Feb 24. Belly boy (Wressell) is coming and I think riding, so we need to rub some paint and show him what's up!

I think I heard something about "the great hairless wonder mouth" (Eric) might be bringing the green clapper...we'll have to tie a leash around him and make sure he can complete a lap without falling on his head.

Although I am not fast I have tried the big three and I really love the dunlops and the "special attention from Belly Wressel" has taught me quite a bit about set up and geometry and how important and how these all work together to make the bike work.
In regards to Danny's furry nature and Erics lack of fur and male dancers and wild partying and....... It goes to show speed knows no boundaries........

KFG Dunlop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stiffer carcass (he said stiffer) provides way better feedback. Barry second to none setting up suspension for the proper grip. Dunlops also provide way more feedback regarding slippage and are very predictable. The Pilot Race by the other brand just isn't as predictable. Too soft too as they don't provide any feedback. Haven't ridden the Bridgestones or the italian brand that starts with a P but have heard good things about them. Bottom line is that you just don't see those vendors with as many customers because nobody takes care of you like Barry and his crew. Beer, food, in early and out late when it comes to the track...service, service, service.

The new NTs are incredible!!!!! I can't believe how good they stick. I am not the fastest guy around by any means but I will stay loyal to KFG Dunlop for all of the reasons mentioned above.

Thanks for the compliments!! I really try to do my best to help you guys out, and will continue to do so in 2008! I believe the Dunlops are the best, might be a tad bias :) I have ridden Dunlops, Michelin and Pirelli. I won the #2 plate with Michelin and then went to Dunlop the next season. I felt they were a better tire and Eric got me hooked up. It took me a few trackdays to get used to the new tire (to me) and fell in love! I set personal best lap times and I was winning races.

I actually tried out the new Pirelli DOT's over Spokane and thought they worked pretty damn good, just did not like the movement when getting on the gas. It felt like the tire was not up to temp and was sliding/gripping sort of thing. I pulled of the track and immediately checked the hot pressures and they were spot on. Dunlops don't move around and that front tire is awesome! I can't wait to try out the new 211GP DOT! Heard great things about it.

I think I have about 1000 laps around Thunder Hill, so hopefully I can pass Lippis/Wilson at least once......I better get to the gym! :1028:
