It's like asking what's the difference between a stock shock and a penske... The difference is THAT noticeable.

You just don't know until you feel the difference.

Seems to say it right there for you.

I have them in the Triumph and they are awesome! You just need to open the wallet and get them! "I" believe you can go faster!

I want those!!!

Just so Barry can buy a tractor and build an MX track :D

25mm sounds neat but I still have no idea what they do.... and now that I'm Barry's shit list for being out of town next weekend I'll most likely never know what a 25mm kit is like :(

I'm even the soft compound O.G.!!!!

Guys, put it this way.

1. Yes they are a bit spendy, but if you race a bike 2 years, not really.

2. Most importantly, i dont know of ANYONE in the AMA (600ss or 1000sstk privateers thats over 100 guys) that does NOT run a 25mm cartridge kit! Mostly ohlins cause they know no better, get sponsored and ohlins is at every track.

3. We had Ben and Dave at GP Suspension install them in our EDR 848 Superbike and have NOT ADJUSTED ONE KNOB OR CLICKER after we set them up 1st day at our shop. SERIOUSLY not ONE SETTING on the forks!

4. Im having Dave and Barry make me/install a one off special set of 25mm kits in my Ohlins Wbk Forks on my ZX7RR (they just dont know it yet :-))

You set them in the shop, which I believe but are you implying they don't require adjustment for different tracks. Didn't you take the 848 to bumpy bouncy Pacific? And you didn't need to make any changes to accommodate? Same question for the enormous weight difference between "trim" Luke and "accused of being heavy" Barry when they rode on the same day. I'm in Justin's camp if the above is true ... I want them even if I don't understand them.

and price are we talking hundreds or thousands?

Ed Who?
09-22-2008, 06:46 PM
chuckb, i told barry "GO TO the wonder twins and help a brotha(s) out!" but i did not know you would not be there sunday...doh!

swing by shop this week and ill show ya the bikes that have them...they ROCK!

Im sure that this is a question that everyone gets all the time, and it was touched on earlier, but would everyone here say that GP is just as good as Ohlins ? I ask only because i dont know ? If so or not, what are some opinions. I ask because im looking to purchase the full setup from one of the vendors.

Ed Who?
10-29-2008, 09:47 PM
YES! IMO. The ONLY benefit i see of Ohlins over GP

1. They have MUCH COOLER Fork Caps (come on Hodge, get those fork caps done!)
2. They have a bigger name, so might help resale back east (but im working on it for my part to get more east coast guys to TRY them and see!)
3. They have MUCH cooler sticker..i mean, Flat tire...wtf? you made GP's so small no one can read them! Lol

According to a moderately fast guy, Ross Delong, he said they are pretty damn close. He has the 25mm GP North cartridges in his street Gsxr1k and the 25mm Ohlins forks in his race bike. I trust Ross' opinion. :)

One thing is when it comes to resell, its easier to move Ohlins stuff used. GP you'll have to find someone in the NW interested in them if you ever part with them.

Barry Wressell
10-29-2008, 09:48 PM
Both are excellent, the one thing that GP has, is you can take the cartridges with you when you sell the bike and we can retro fit to any new bike you get down the road. We even do updates for you to suit your preferences, no charge. I can get either cartridges for you, plus the trackside tuning is no charge as well.

GP sells more 25 kits around the country than it sells in the NW!!! You don't see them for sale because most people want to keep them and only retro fit to whatever new bike they purchase.

Corey, do you really wanna take advice from someone that can't even crack 47's on his "Superbike" SV. His opinion isn't biased. His opinion has no merit since he doesn't ride fast enough to even use the stock suspension.* LOL

Or $726 from the GetwellClarkie.com auction site. Thanks GP, I'll be enjoying the hell out those things next season. Why the hell people didn't bid those things up is beyond me but there mine now. I even advertised the auction on this forum and the WMRRA forum, morons!

Well, not so much.... for now. Short term memory isn't there but it sounds like he's learning to talk again. Walking is out until the hip heals, give it another 3 months or so. If he could get the swallowing thing down they could remove the G-tube but it turns out to be a much more complex process than you'd think.

There are signs of improvement though and that's good to see, I think he's just now getting a grip on all that's happened.

Do us all a favor and keep your head out of the concrete wall....
