Interesting. When they are talking about 'connection', is it more of a mechanical thing (i.e. the tire physically hooks up better) or a physiological thing (the rider has a better perception of the tire hooking up and therefore can control the throttle better)? Either way, it's very interesting.

The article explains why I get all defensive about my 1200 cc undersquare, 45 degree, v-twin Buell firebolt. Torque, baby! Till you get to about 5000 rpm where piston speed becomes absolutely rediculous..... Mmmmm, 90 degree I-4 600.....

I read that too and just loved it. Intertial Torque...very cool concept. I also found it very fascinating how the mapping/electronics factored in GPS so the bike KNEW where it was on the track. Thus adjusting mapping for exact corners! Purdy hot stuff...gotta love it. Talk about another dimension to mapping. http://www.edrperformance.com/insider/images/icons/icon14.gif

EmDee...we are working with Starlane.it this winter a lot. EDR will be using its Atheon GPS 3R for trackmapping. Basically its a lap timer i velco on your tank and send you out....you come back and (after initial setup by us for the track) i download the data. I can see your speed, (if we hook up rpm) rpm at any point of the track. It will show me where exactly on the track you broke and where you get on the gas.
Cool thing is if i have two guys, i can compare and say "He Mark, Gua is outbraking you only in T5...look"
IM very excited. We are also trying to get barry set up as well. Wont cost racer anything. Just another service we are trying to offer our riders to help them go faster!

Very cool Eric. I've looked at that system myself and considered one. Seems like a great tool, especially like you pointed out, when comparing to other faster riders, you can see exactly where and why they have you!
GAWD I love this kind of technology filtering down to the club levels at affordable prices. Friggin Kick ass! Can't wait to try it out and definetly put me down on the list for a run with it. :great:
