Eric,

Last year I had installed some frame sliders that prevented the stock coolant overflow tank on my '02 ZX-9R from being used so I put on a smaller one. A few months ago I was in getting some work done and you noticed it and mentioned cutting the stock tank and (plastic) welding in a piece (probably like a plastic pipe) so the stock tank could be used. I don't know anything about welding plastic. Is there a product or process you recommend for this? The overflow tank plastic is mostly black with a translucent window. The plastic is black where the welding would be done. It will be covered with bodywork so I don't care too much how it looks but would rather it doesn't leak.

Thanks!!

James T.

Might check with a professional auto body supply shop. They might have a wonder glue for your application.

Don't tinker with pressurized coolant tanks. If they fail under pressure it's not good.

This tank isn't pressurized. I was going to ask an auto parts/shop what they recommended....thinking a carefully applied epoxy or adhesive/sealant along with a tight fit might be adequate. Thanks!
