Hypnotiq

So unfortunately I forgot to take pictures before I started but let's just say my back yard was in sad shape. Very, very sad shape. The wife had been on me about tearing it up and making it look nice. I put it off as long as I could but this was our last free weekend (last weekend) till September, so I told her it had to be done in that time. BIG MISTAKE.
In the pictures you see mulch, under that is actually river rock. It serves functional purpose unfortunately because we wanted to take it out all together. My 2nd solution was to dig the rock down 12 in and then put netting, dirt, and sod over it but after 18in, I was still hitting rock. Fuck that. We'll just cover the rock with netting and mulch instead. :D
In the first picture in the corner of the fence, used to be a bush that took up 5ftx5ft and it was a bitch to take out. The neighbors looked at me weird when I took down part of the fence, drove my truck around back and hooked a chain to it. Much easier.
The other shitty part about sod is you have to haul the old shit out and bring in new soil. So I ended up hauling out 4 truck loads (8 yards) of dirt. The worse part of that is you had to move the same dirt, 3x. Ground->Wheel barrel, Wheel barrel->Truck, Truck->Dump site. Ugh!!!! We then brought in 2 truck loads of good soil, thankfully only needed to be shoveled once. And one truck load of mulch. Oh yeah, we had the sod delivered from JB but I never had laid sod before. Who knew those rolls were so heavy. I mean, they aren't really heavy if you move 1 but after 60 of them. Ugh!!!
In the end, I spent 5 hours Friday night, 15 hours Saturday, and 11 hours Sunday working on the backyard. Even my fingers were sore by the time I got done. :(
At least the wife is happy, right? :26:
