I have a pair of Harman Kardon "Signiture Series 50" speakers which are collecting dust at my house.
They're fairly tall... 44" tall and maybe 14" wide finished in a black piano laquer finish... retail was about $1600.00/pr back in the early 90's. They are a D'Appolito configuration, with 2x8" poly woofers and a 1" Vifa titanium dome tweeter. 6 ohm impedance.
They like a fair bit of power, but are reasonably efficient, so a decent quality (Marantz, Sony ES, Harman Kardon) receiver would be ok to drive them, provided the amp is stable at lower impedances. A large power amp would be ideal. Mainstream JVC/Sony/Pioneer receivers would probably damage them if driven at higher volumes.
They're in decent condition, but not perfect. There's some candle wax on the grill cloth (could be replaced).
They were originally purchased on accomodation from HK, by my store manager (at a hifi shop I worked at in Bellingham). He later sold them to me, and I used them for years. I loaned them to a friend for a few years, and he blew both tweeters. I rebuilt both tweeters a couple of years ago (cost about $40), and have used them until recently, when I picked up a set of Vintage Dahlquists.
I'm asking $350 for the set, due to the grill cloth wear.
