Brake Pad break-in?

Good morning,

I replaced my brake pads, and honed my rotors yesterday on the SV. I am on the track Thur/Fri and want to know the proper way to seat (is that the right term?) them. I remember reading something somewhere a long time ago that there is a proper way to seat your pads to your rotors. Can you guide me wise one's?

Pads are EBC if that matters.

I think the term is bedding in the pads, with the Vesrah I dont believe you need to, When I ran the Performance Friction pads Eric recommended scrubbing them with a coarse grit sandpaper before installing them. I know you can Glaze or burn brake pads if you get them too hot too quickly though again I dont know if a race compund pad is subject to this. Chime in Eric.

step 1. Remove EBC brakes
step 2. Throw in trash
step 3. instal vesrah or carbonne lorraine
step 4. PIN IT TO WIN IT!

You sold me the damn pads! ok, maybe they arent EBC, I bet they are Vesrah now that I think about it. I will check when I get home this afternoon.

If they are Vesrah, is there anything I should do to "bed" them?

If you have Vesrah's - put in brakes, take it a little easy into T1 first lap, brake normally rest of the lap, you're good to go!

if i did, they most CERTAINLY were NOT ebc! The vesrah RJL rock on that bike! ZERO bed in! Ask the fast guys...vesrah you put in and go!

Yeah, that was crazy about the Vesrahs. I did what DPW said and holy shit. Those things start working right off the bat. :)

Vesrah SRJL's are the shizznizzel!!!!! They took me from being a huge vagina on the brakes to a actual dick on the brakes! .....I actually put in a new set at Infineon this year and forgot I put them in and raced on them,worked from the first corner!

my vesrah SRJL pads in the ZX-7RR are SOOO good with the brembo mono bloc calipers that i can out brake ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BITCH PLEASE! I was choppin out HP til 1:30am last night....BACK here since 6:45 am to meet up with DPW! Now beeattt it! I gotta get back in my dyno (or as Arun calls it "wtf i can now see why your so goddamn crazy..the fumes man" room and chop out some more hp for this weekend..
